Polymer solutions and melts:
Conformation, structure and dynamics

Outline

We have regrouped here various classical activities of our research group on static and dynamic properties of polymers in solutions (dilute, semi-dilute, concentrated) or melts, i.e. polymers in their liquid state (no finite zero-frequency shear modulus) as opposed to We shall also assume a quenched mass distribution and topology as opposed to our more recent research field Most of the time we shall assume here that the chains are monodisperse, linear, unbranched and neutral.

Research questions

  1. Long range correlations in semidilute solutions and melts
  2. Polymers at surfaces and interfaces: Adsorption, layers, brushes, ...
  3. Charged polymers: Polyelectrolytes and polyampholytes
  4. Ring polymers: Role of the topological constraint
  5. Equilibrium and non-equilibrium polymer dynamics
