Organisation of the Crash-Course
Whereabouts:
The lectures will take place in the seminar room of the Institute
Charles Sadron
(6, Rue Boussingault, Strasbourg)
which is close to the Orangerie and the European Parliament.
Timing:
The course starts on
Monday 21/02/2005 at 14:15 and
ends on Wednesday 23/01/2005 at 18:00.
Each lecture lasts about an hour followed by an half hour break
for questions and discussions.
Registration:
The participation is free of charge and open to everyone interested.
The total number of participants is limited to 25 persons.
Students are encourged to participate.
No money is available for travel and other expenditure.
Handouts are distributed to registered participants.
Only an email is required for registration containing the
participant's address and affiliation.

Lectures:
Eight lectures will be presented by four speakers from the Institute Charles Sadron.
The first talk by Prof. J. Baschnagel is a general overview on computational
physics methods for condensed matter applications.
A brief recap on polymers and polymers physics will be given on Tuesday.
Talks will only be given in French if all participants will be
able to follow. Otherwise they will be in English.
Questions may be asked in French in any case.

The given Literature is deliberately concise.
Most of the topics covered in the lectures are described
in more detail in the recent review
[BWM04]
which also contains an extensive list of appropriate references.
A short History of Polymer Science
and of some of its Heros is
provided in order to give a brief introduction to the
achievements and the future challenges of polymers science in general.

in case of language problems.
