How to reach the conference

Travel Information

Arriving by airplane
Strasbourg is served by an international airport (int. airport code SXB, Entzheim Airport) which connects only to a few European cities. There is a train shuttle from the airport to the main railway station ("Gare de Strasbourg") where the recommended conference hotels are located. The Schedule of the train shuttle is available here.
Another option is to arrive through Frankfurt Airport (int. airport code FRA, Germany). There is a Lufthansa Airport Bus ("Navette") that takes about 2hours 15 minutes from Frankfurt airport to Strasbourg. The Lufthansa shuttle bus stops in Strasbourg at the central train station (int. airport code XWG) and at Boulevard de Metz - Hotel Hilton (int. airport code XER).

Arriving by train
There are high speed trains (TGV) running at 60 min. intervals throughout most of the day between Strasbourg and Paris ("Gare de l’Est), the travel time is about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
If you are arriving from or traveling to other destinations within Europe, the service of German Rail may be convenient for retrieving train schedules.

How to reach the Cronenbourg Campus.
Once in Strasbourg it is strongly advised to use public transportation. The map below shows the location of the Cronenbourg Campus in the Northwest of Strasbourg (B). The blue line connects the railway station (Place de la Gare (A)) with the main gate to the Cronenbourg Campus, it is approximately 4 KM (2.5 miles) from the railway station to the campus. Walking is not recommended. The city center is east of the railway station "Petite France" (0.8 Km) and "La Cathédrale" (1.4 KM).

Tickets (CTS) can be purchased from vending machines at all tramway stops (cash or credit card). These tickets are also valid for buses. Tickets can also be bought from bus drivers at a slightly higher cost (exact change preferred). Note that tramway drivers do not sell any tickets.

To reach the Cronenbourg Campus you should take the tram to the stop “Rotonde” (line A or D bound for “Rotonde” or “Hautepierre”). From this stop take bus number 19 bound for “Chambre des métiers” or for "Cronenbourg-Arago", get off at "Cronenbourg-Arago" or “Ecole de chimie” (only if final destination is “Chambre des métiers”) and then walk to the Campus (about 200 m, depending on the bus stop and the entrance gate).

The map below of the Cronenbourg Campus shows the main gate to the Campus, the location of our institute "Institut Charles Sadron" (red shape) and the location of the bus stops. We will have signs posted toward the lecture hall from all entrances to the Campus.
